In-Home-Tek, Inc. was founded in 2002. Today we provide a multitude of computer services from our location at 1780E North Market Street. We specialize in repair, but offer many other services related to computers. We believe our attention to customer service and value based pricing are what keep our customers happy, loyal, and likely to recommend us to their friends. We also believe in listening to our customers’ problems and concerns and explaining technical issues in a language that everyone can understand, in other words, we avoid Geek Speak as much as possible. We realize that you have many choices for your computer needs here in Frederick, we just hope that you choose us and see for yourself what keeps our customers coming back.

I am President & Chief Technician of In-Home-Tek, Inc. I am most likely the person who will show up at your door if you request an in-home service call. I started my adventure in the computer field in 1995 with the purchase of my first computer. Since then I’ve never stopped learning. In 1997 I began working at DPI Business InfoSystems in Hunt Valley, MD delivering computers & supplies to DPI’s clients. In my spare time I began to help the technicians perform Compaq warranty repairs. Within a year I was promoted to Hardware Services Manager and given the task of implementation & creation of a Service & Repair department within DPI. While running the Service department I also filled in from time to time as a Network Technician mostly performing WAN upgrades gaining valuable experience in Computer Networking & Troubleshooting. I also worked for Sinclair Broadcast Group based in Hunt Valley, MD. While there I worked as a Systems Administrator & Helpdesk Technician & continued to perform WAN & Server upgrades in the field as well as Desktop Support at the corporate office until leaving in December 2001 when I decided to start my own business.

I received my A+ certification in 1998 and my Network+ certification in 2001. The A+ certification represents an understanding of computer Hardware & Software. The Network+ certification represents a broad understanding of all Network Operating Systems, associated Hardware & Troubleshooting of Networks. While understanding the need to have some certifications to legitimize my business, I am not a believer in certifications, having seen firsthand many people come and go in the field with impressive certifications unable to do even the most basic computer tasks.

I take customer satisfaction very personally. While we have grown past the point that I can personally perform every repair I will continue to make sure that my technicians adhere to the same standards of customer satisfaction and attention to details as I do. When my customers are happy I am happy.

For those who care to know a little about me personally I will include a little here. I have worked as an Electrician. I left the field after an injury with only 1 year to go to be eligible to take my Master Electrician test. I also worked as a Driving Instructor (not as dangerous as it seems). I have also worked as a Domino’s Pizza driver off and on up till the time I started this business. My hobbies include Martial Arts and of course Computers. I have studied Tae Kwon Do, Budo Taijutsu & most recently Chen Pan Ling Tai Chi Chuan .
